February Currently...woo hoo!

It's time for the February Currently - woot woot! I sincerely look forward to this linky every month & am so thankful to Farley for hosting it.  It's so much fun to get a little glimpse into everyone's lives... just another great part of this blogosphere! :)

Listening -  to some crime drama on tv.. Undercover Boss just went off, and it's one of my favorite shows.  Do y'all watch it?? I just love the idea of the "powers that be" having to step inside the lives of the "everyday worker" to see what it's all REALLY like.

I'm thinking that they need an Undercover Boss - School Edition.  I mean, can you imagine some of the big wigs coming and doing YOUR job for a while. I'm not talking one day... or even one week. I would like for someone to come do my job each and every  day for like a month.  Congressman, parents, administrators... everyone is welcome! :)

Loving -  being "home" with my parents.  I am truly blessed with the relationship I have with them, and love coming home to see them. It's only an hour away, but it's like a little escape.  After reading Farley's blog lately with the loss of her mother-in-law, it just really reminded me to make the most of every little moment. I'll be honest (without getting too mushy on you), I wish there was a magic button to stop time because I hate watching the people I love get older.  But, so is life, and God's will - I just want to make every minute count with those I love :)

Thinking - I need more time! I swear, I think this, like, every day! I pride myself on being efficient and organized, but there is just never enough hours in the day ...or days in the week to get it all done. I think I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, and I know it will all get done, but a little time fairy (or a STOP button) would be awesome...and super helpful to grading that stack of papers as  high as my head!

Wanting - clarity & patience.  Truly.   I am thinking about going back to school... yet again.. .and getting my Leadership add-on. I got my Specialist about a year ago, and swore I was done with school.  Now, there might be an opportunity to get my add-on, and I'm trying to decide if I want to do it.  I am not ready to leave the classroom, at all, but think it might be nice to have that in case I choose to follow a different path later. So, for now, I pray . . . for clarity.  And I TRY to be patient.   Easier said than done, right?!

Needing -  a pedicure.  Seriously, folks.  I get pedicures year round, but with January being such a tight month (with no paycheck for 6 weeks...arghhh!), I haven't had one since the beginning of December. Ewww.. I mean,  I try the home version , but it's just not the same.  I miss pretty toes... *sigh*

Pet Peeves -

1 - Whining - that's a given in my classroom. Drives me nutball crazy, I tell you! "He has my pencil...waahhh"... "She looked at me....weeeww".  Etc... I know you KNOW what I'm talking about.

But, I REALLY hate it when adults whine.  I mean grown up, full fledged, card-carrying members of adulthood.  That sounds so ugly, I'm sure, but it just drives me batty.  Having a bad day? Absolutely share with me & lean on my shoulder!  Whining about the same thing over and over again that you don't do anything about. UGHHH!!!!

Wait...was I just whining about not having enough time and pretty toes?  oops... maybe not :(

2 - Slow drivers -  'Nuff said, right?! I mean it's 7:00 a.m. in Atlanta rush hour traffic & you're in the middle lane going 45.  No, I have no where to be. Just taking a morning drive. :/

3 - Those who don't take accountability -  This goes for kids, parents, anyone.... It just gripes me when people look for someone else or something else to blame for something. Mistakes are made, sure... and I am really understanding of that, but I will never understand those who won't take responsibility for their actions or choices.

Wow, I sound like a Grumpy Grouch tonight. I really don't mean to.. I guess the Pet Peeves lended itself to that, but I hope I'm not coming across like the Teacher Troll that lives under her desk! haha.

I'm actually a very happy person . . . with pet peeves...and no time...and a lead foot... and jacked up toes .  ;)

So, what about you? What are you doing tonight and what are YOUR pet peeves??

Can't wait to read your Currently, so hop on over & link up!

  1. Oh you definitely hit it on the head with the accountability issue. I don;t like that! For some people it is just never their fault - get with the program people!

  2. I love Undercover Boss, and I agree that they should have a school version! I would LOVE it!!

I agree with your pet peeves, especially the accountability piece. But the slow driver thing is crazy! There is one stretch of road here that I think actually has a secret sign that says "Drive 10 miles under the speed limit." It drives me nuts!

  3. Agree, agree, agree! Esp your pet peeves! Nothing worse then when they whine about not taking accountability! Take charge people. Be in charge of your own destiny and Man UP!

We also totally agree about getting/needing a STOP button. Please press pause so we can catch up on life! It's zooming by and our own kiddos are getting way to big, way too fast.

Here's to slowing down over the weekend (unless you're driving-then SPEED UP!)

  5. Your blog is SOOOO cute!! Christi does amazing work! =) I just found you through Farley's linky! I LOVE undercover boss, and I was thinking the SAME thing about the higher ups coming down to "try" what we do every day. It would be an EYE opening experience for them. Maybe then they wouldn't make such quick and stupid decisions... hmmm. =) My toes are so jacked up and I'm still wearing my flip flops. It's so bad. Adult whiners...uggg. Have a fabulous weekend!!
